May Flowers

Welcome to my monthly updates! I hope you can learn a little bit more about the work that I am doing while I study at the University of San Francisco, California!

Next Step:

The school year is finally over! I surved another semester! I can’t believe that one year from now, I will hopefully be walking across the stage and onto the next step of my journey!

Circle K International:

Well I always seem to apply for positions and it seems like once again I’ve decided to take on another leadership position for the 2021-2202 year. I was appointed as the Golden Gate Division’s Executive Assistant and I will primarily be helping out with technology (Discord, Website, Etc) for the division.

In approximately a month or so, my term as the International Global Development Committee chair will be coming to an end at the International Convention. I will be say this has been of one of the most difficult and rewarding positions I have worked in. There is lots of work that still needs to be done, and I hope that whoever steps up to lead the committee next term, can achieve even more with the structure I have helped develop.

In my role as Secretary, I’ve been doing the basiscs since the summer term tends to be slow and does not require much work from me.

Other Orgs:

As I mentioned previously, I stepped down from a lot of the medical groups on campus to focus on other organizations and opportunities that will continue to prep me for graduate school. I do however, plan to still be a resource and mentor for any pre-med students, since I am familiar with the application process and courses. I thought I would get the chance to escape Chemistry, but it seems I have some friends that want me to tutor them this coming semester… haha

Academics:

Classes are over! I had great grades this emester and I am ready for my last two semester, since I get to focus on some fascinating topics and I get the opportunity to apply to grad school programs!

I am currently studying for my GRE exams, so yay me! *sarcasm* Anyhow, I will update you all in the following months on my progress, and where I stand. Normally, I would hand you all a list of the schools that I am applying to, but I decided not to this time around. You might be asking WHY?

The 2020-2021 term really taught me how to say “no” to things, block out my schedule 48 hours in advance, and it taught me a lot about self-care. In 2017-2018, I sadly was rejected to my dream college, and it hurt being asked by every person I knew if I had made it. This time around, I decided that I would rather keep a large majority of the schools I apply to a secret. Then I will let you know once I get an interview or get accepted into a program! That way I can take the time to focus on all my options and not lose hope. There is a few individuals who will have my list of schools and that is onviously individuals who I trust in guiding me through the process or because I have asked them for references.

So wish me luck as I prepare to take my first GRE at the end of this month or early July.

Thank you for your time, dedication, and service!
