April Showers

Welcome to my monthly updates! I hope you can learn a little bit more about the work that I am doing while I study at the University of San Francisco, California!

Next Step:

March and April seem to always be the hardest. onths of the year and at the same time, some of the slowest months of the year. ANyhow, it’s time for my updates:

Circle K International:

You always think you are going to take a break from leadership positions, bit somehow you always get dragged back in to continue helping.

The past few weeks have consisted of writing up reports, taking minutes, and helping to create a new board structure based on my experience as a club president in the 2020-2021 term. Who knows I may end up applying for another position, but for now, I plan on ending the year strong at the international level.

We are in the midst of planning conferences for other regions of the world, and we are so close to getting Taiwan approved to be a CKI District!

Minority Assocation for Pre-Medical Students:

As much as I loved the pre-med route, my term as the Media and Marketing Chair is coming to an end soon. I would love to be a part of the executive board next year, but I am stepping down to focus on some other projects, that I will highlight next!

Academics:

For any student in the STEM field, the grind never stops! There is always a project, essay, or exam every week! Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to be in a major where we didn’t have so many exams.

In my last update, I talked about looking at Masters Programs and Doctoral Programs. I’ve been looking at various options from a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy, to a Masters in Digital Health Informatics, to Masters in Public Health, or even a Masters in Nursing. On the other hand I’ve been looking into PsyD and PhD programs, and other opportunities that I might consider. I’ve learned that I shouldn’t always set my mind on one thing, but to be open to other opportunities. We are often so focused on one thing, that we forget to take a moment to reflect and look at what we can actually do.

Ironically, I also dropped one of my minors. Did I want to drop it? Not really. Why did I drop it? Because I had other amazing options that I hadn’t even considered.

Sadly, I dropped my Legal Studies/Criminal Justice Studies Minor. However, I now ahve the capability to work on a thesis through the Honors College. I am prepared to die writing this paper, and I gotta plan what classes to take on top of this haha.

Thank you for your time, dedication, and service!
