Awards, GRE, and More!

Welcome to my monthly updates! I hope you can learn a little bit more about the work that I am doing while I study at the University of San Francisco, California!

Next Step:

Summer months tend to be the slowest months of the year, and yet this year, I have been pushing myself to study and prepare for the GREs. Also I’ve been preparing myself to once again dive into the college application process.

Circle K International:

My term as the International Global Development Committee Chair is coming to an end, but I hope to continue supporting our interntional clubs and training whoever decides to take over the committee this next term.

At the International Education and Leadership Conference, I had the privilege to recieve the Distinguished International Chairperson award. I honestly cannot thank my committee enough for all their hardwork, dedication, and support! We have the biggest challenge of dealing with time zones, some language barriers, and defintely the challenge of supporting clubs that do not have an established District. As of right now, I do not plan on applying to the committee this coming term, as I want to focus on my academics and make up for all the things I missed out during this virtual year.

As crazy as I am, I also applied to the Cal-Nev-Ha District Convention Committee, and will be interviewing for this position soon!

In my role as Secretary and Golden Gate Executive Assistant I have been working on different resources for other clubs to utilize. I am also working with my team to rebrand the division and create new and engaging events!

USVH:

I hate to say that I officially ended my term, but I did it to focus on my academics! I was invited to be the Program Director, but I decided to turn the role down, as I know that I will not have availability in my schedule to work on this.

Academics:

GRE….where do I start? I survived my first ever GRE. I used to think the SAT was pointless, but oh my goodness GRE is worse… in my honest opinion the SAT tested math that I would use, but the GRE tested me on concepts that I was not going to use in grad school…

I am glad that a lot of programs are no longer requiring it or are making it optional. I believe that these exams are simply just another barrier to higher education. The number one barrier will always be the cost of programs, and tests are just another stress and cost.

I plan on taking another GRE in either late July or August, now that I know what the exam is like. And I personally know that I can do better!

Thank you for your time, dedication, and service!
